The second SBI (School of Biblical Interpretation) was organized, this time in Mediaș, with 14 students, followed by mission trips to Egypt, Serbia, and the Republic of Moldova. The first DTS (Discipleship Training School) took place at the YWAM Mediaș base, followed by outreach in Turkey and Bucharest, where the team worked with street children. The study groups grew to five in number. The “Iosua” camp gathered 52 young people and sent mission teams to Moldova, Bărăgan, and Serbia. Reinhard and Birgit moved to Mediaș together with their children to serve as staff. Marta from the Republic of Moldova also joined the team as a volunteer.
2001
Year 2001
The School of Biblical Interpretation was held again with 10 students, followed by mission trips to Serbia and Egypt. The second DTS opened new opportunities for another 10 young people. The study groups continued to grow and once again took part in the “Iosua” camps and mission trips. Evangelism ministry began in the city, especially in the underprivileged working-class neighborhood of VITROMET. This included meetings with local youth, sports activities, evangelism, and a Christian concert. The “ProMedias” prayer initiative for the city was launched, bringing together young people from the base as well as from other churches in the city.
2002
Year 2002
The first SBCW (School of Biblical Christian Worldview) was organized at YWAM Mediaș with 10 students. A one-month mini-DTS was also held with 15 students. The “Iosua” camp equipped and sent young people to Oltenia, Turnu Severin, Slobozia, and Serbia. Another study group was started in the village of Bosanci, Suceava County. A Christian magazine began to be published as a means of communication and information between these groups. Teo and Simona were among the young people who joined the YWAM Mediaș mission base team.

The SBI helped 5 students discover biblical truths, most of them coming from less evangelized continents such as Africa and Asia. The school concluded with a mission trip to Egypt. The “Iosua” camp once again spoke to 40 young people about the importance of studying the Bible and preaching the Word of God, ending with a mission trip to Turnu Severin. Due to the lack of space needed for organizing schools and activities, land was purchased and planning and approval began for the construction of a new mission base called “Casa Națiunilor” (“House of Nations”). Reinhard, Birgit, and their family completed their ministry at the YWAM Mediaș base and returned to Austria, from where they would continue to Egypt for their next mission project. They have remained our supporters and mentors to this day. YWAM Mediaș celebrated 10 years of ministry.

The ProMedias prayer gathering continued, and we were able to see visible changes in the areas we had prayed for. Construction of Casa Națiunilor also progressed, despite many challenges and much prayer needed for funding — from the foundation all the way to the roof.
